The Freelancer & Contractor Services Association (FCSA), the UK’s leading independent trade body whose members provide professional support services to freelancers and contractors, is delighted to announce the appointment of David Mount as its new Chairperson. David has played an active role in FCSA’s work since 2010 and takes over this position from Graham Fisher who has served as Chair for the last year.
In his new role, David will support Julia Kermode as CEO and the FCSA team in continuing its work to support and represent the UK’s flexible workforce and continue to help FCSA in its mission to drive up standards in an unregulated industry.
Alongside his role as Chair, David is MD and founder of 1st Option and his career in financial services spans some 30 years. On taking up his new appointment as Chair, David Mount commented: “FCSA is going from strength to strength and I am delighted to be taking up the responsibility of representing our sector that is working hard to support the UK’s freelancers and contractors. 2016 looks set to be a challenging year for the sector as we see more government activity targeted at the contingent labour market; probably with the focus shifting towards those who provide services via their own limited company. As part of my agenda I look forward to working with our members and associates to air their views and influence decisions with policymakers. Whilst our industry has come a long way, there is still much to do in our efforts to drive up standards, stamp out unethical behaviour and promote best practice.
“I would also like to thank Graham Fisher for his work over the last year and I look forward to taking up the mantle from him.”
Julia Kermode, CEO of FCSA added: “It has been a pleasure working with Graham Fisher as Chair and I am now looking forward to working with David as we continue to evolve and make our mark as the UK’s leading independent trade association for our sector.”
