The FCSA is delighted to see that Margaret Beels has been appointed to the role of Director of Labour Market Enforcement. This comes at a time when outsourced workers remain extremely vulnerable to exploitation and that compliant recruitment agencies and umbrella firms are under attack from cyber-attacks and cloning.
The contractor marketplace continues to evolve and increase and with it comes ever more sophisticated attacks on the sector from both within the UK and globally. It is vital that the new Director of Labour Market Enforcement works with trade bodies like the FCSA that have fought for years to protect the worker and provide a fully compliant choice to the supply chain. The FCSA has worked very hard with BEIS and HMRC over many years to identify unlawful activity and we look forward to working closely with Margaret to ensure non-compliant practices and operators are identified and prosecuted.
