FCSA members have held a roundtable with David Gauke MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, as part of the trade association’s mission to build relations and continue discussions with the Treasury regarding tax policy for umbrella companies and PSCs. Hosted by The CBI, the focus of the meeting centred on the proposals announced at the 2016 Budget to change the tax framework for PSCs in public sector engagement.
Members heard from the Minister that he is keen to work with stakeholders to design an effective and workable solution and urged the trade association to take an active part in the consultation process before the Government’s final plans are announced at the Autumn Statement.
Commenting on the meeting, Julia Kermode, CEO of FCSA said: “The roundtable gave FCSA and its members a rare and excellent opportunity to engage with a senior minister on important issues that will shape the future of the UK’s flexible workforce in the public sector in the coming months and beyond. We will be continuing our talks with HMRC over the coming weeks to help them find a workable solution for all.”
